Job Overview

The Director of Student Recruitment will oversee and direct a Student Recruitment team. Develop and implement recruitment strategies, programs and events targeting a specific segment of students for the College of Nursing Programs. This position will offer flexibility for a hybrid remote work arrangement for applicants with a residence within OH/IN/KY. Remote work arrangements are subject to change in accordance with university policies. The Director of Recruitment will travel for recruiting events.

Essential Functions

  • Serves as a liaison to develop and maintain relationships between the university, alumni, and healthcare and educational systems throughout the region to actively identify potential applicants and attain graduate recruitment goals. Designs and executes recruiting webinars, informational sessions, and events including conferences, education fairs, trade shows, presentations to prospective graduate students both virtually and in person directed towards College of Nursing initiatives. Assist with external recruitment at Nursing conferences. Collaborates with the Student Affairs team to formulate, plan and support the execution of student affairs activities to include student ceremonies and other College of Nursing events as needed.
  • Responsible for development, implementation, administration and direction of student recruitment programs with primary responsibilities for strategic planning; formulate, recommend, approve and implement internal procedures and controls; set goals to achieve strategic objectives; assume management responsibility for a wide range of projects/programs.
  • Responsible for collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units and participate in cross-functional policy development and execution that enrich the student experience; formulate, approve and communicate major policy changes affecting other departments with the authority to grant exceptions.
  • Develop and implement a strategic and operational graduate recruitment plan representing the College of Nursing at events, conferences, and meetings. Research and identify target markets and recruitment venues, analyzing trends and assessing the effectiveness of graduate recruitment events. Recommend new strategies to generate prospective student inquiries in response to market trends and changes. Maintain accurate accounting of budget expenditure for travel, events, marketing, advertising and special projects.

  • Responsible for managing the recruitment team.
  • Develop, implement and monitor department budget; authority for budget, revenue and expense planning and approving expenditure; has signature authority for recruitment programs; reports on budget status to executive level.
  • Represent the college at recruitment events at various state and national associations and university recruitment committees.
  • Prepare reports and assessments, interpret and disseminate information, provide advice, write proposals, develop recruitment promotional materials, construct contractual agreements, and ensure that all programs and services comply with university, state and federal regulations.
  • Partner with marketing on the digital and print strategies that target key constituents in collaboration with College of Nursing communication personnel including generating content and reviewing recruitment materials by seeking input from internal stakeholders. Utilize College of Nursing approved templates for recruitment activities. Review content of academic web pages; provide suggested updates to ensure information reflects current message, policies, and practices; make recommendations for revision to ensure accuracy and optimal information delivery.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience

  • Seven (7) years of relevant experience.
  • Supervision experience. 

Required Trainings/Certifications

Valid Driver's License

Additional Qualifications Considered

Master’s degree.
