The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for the overall digital design, development and implementation of websites with accessible content for intranet and some public facing documentation within the university’s selected content management system. This position requires excellent  coordination and organizational skills to address communication needs of the Central Human Resource office by producing marketing materials and coordinating with others for communication initiatives. This is a part-time position with opportunity for flexibility in scheduling for 20-24 hours/wk and directly reports to the Chief Human Resource Officer.

 

Digital Communications Specialist responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Write applications, develop components, create templates and style sheets to be used in conjunction with university’s content management system, web environment and social media
  • Review, copy, edit, approve, and publish content
  • Translate Central HR’s web/intranet-related needs into technical solutions and develop detailed design and work plans
  • Assist with the coordination of Central HR’s marketing and communications
  • Manage Central HR’s analytics and search platforms; provide support and training for Central HR users
  • Work with university’s technical support team to ensure accessibility, functionality and performance of Central HR’s content on the university’s digital platforms; ensure compliance with sections 504 and 508 of the Americans with Disabilities Act
  • Coordinate effective records management in digital storage systems for HR
  • Responsible for accurate and timely storage of HR-related documents in accordance with UC’s Records Retention Schedule
  • Must maintain confidentiality with high level of integrity
  • Perform related duties and special projects based on departmental need

 

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with one (1) year experience -OR- an Associate’s degree with three (3) years of experience OR- seven years of experience.
  • Experience must be related to designing, developing, testing and maintaining websites.

 

This position will be a professional position paid at an hourly rate.
