Job Overview
Perform labor market analysis using various techniques, e.g., statistical analysis, explanatory and predictive modeling, data mining to create high quality reports to be used for operational and executive level decision making in the UC College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies. The Labor Market Analyst works within the CCPS (College of Cooperative Education & Professional Studies) Partnership Development Team to provide recommendations to the college to improve student employment outcomes.
CCPS participates in the University's alternative work program; the employee’s schedule is negotiable.
Essential Functions
- Collect accurate data and analyze labor market trends, employment rates, job demand, and industry-specific information.
- Conduct research on labor market dynamics, including identifying emerging industries, skill gaps, and workforce needs to support lead generation for the Partnership Development Team.
- Understand industry demand to ensure that students are competitive within the labor market.
- Examine and compare internal student data and employment patterns, salary trends, and regional variations.
- Determine best practices and develop actionable data-driven insights and recommendations to support the Partnership Development team and university leadership on co-op and full-time placements, career services, and curriculum adjustments.
- Manage and maintain CRM database (Salesforce) including tasks such as managing user access and support, upgrades and performance optimization, customization, configuration, and integration of CCPS instance with other software platforms.
- Create and present executive summaries, executive briefings, benchmark reports and dashboards.
- Help cultivate a strong data culture within the university.

Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Business Analytics, Economics, or related field.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
- One (1) year of experience in labor market analytics or business analysis techniques.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Three (3) years of experience in labor market analytics or business analysis techniques.
- Familiarity with publicly available economic, workforce, and education data sets.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and distill insights into actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and databases (Salesforce admin training/certification a plus)
- Detail-oriented, good communicator, and agile in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and pay attention to detail.

- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.

- Competitive salary range of $50,000 - $53,000 dependent on the candidate's experience.
