Job Overview

The Nurse Anesthesia DNP Coordinator will share teaching and administrative duties as assigned by the Nurse Anesthesia Program Director or the Dean including, but not limited to participation in admissions, advisory, curriculum, and evaluation committees supporting the Nurse Anesthesia Program. In addition, the DNP Coordinator will participate in College of Nursing events and committees as assigned by the Nurse Anesthesia Program Director, the Dean or Associate Dean.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with maintaining all aspects of the Program of Nurse Anesthesia within the Standards and Guidelines of the Council on Accreditation (COA) of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs and Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
  • Meets the College of Nursing faculty expectations of Teaching/Service/Scholarship.
  • Represents the Nurse Anesthesia Program (NAP), director, faculty, students and the College of Nursing in a professional and courteous manner with regard to all direct in-person, phone, electronic and written correspondences.
  • Demonstrates expert practice and serves as a role model.
  • Works collaboratively with DNP Program Director and DNP faculty to coordinate and facilitate nurse anesthesia student, CRNA post-master-DNP students and NAP faculty efforts.
  • Collaborates with other course didactic/lead faculty teaching the same course, to ensure consistency across didactic content, selection of textbook(s), assignments, and other course materials, and implementation of evaluation strategies.
  • Ensures course implementation according to curriculum approved student learning outcomes as well as the College of Nursing vison and mission.
  • Completes course evaluation summary and faculty analysis of course evaluation in evaluation software, six (6) weeks after the end of the semester. All faculty involved in the course should participate the analysis after reviewing the data. Include syllabus, topical outline, and de-identified exemplars.
  • Collaborates with the Nurse Anesthesia Program faculty in developing and modifying didactic and simulation learning experiences; participates in NAP admissions and committees.
  • Assists in the preparation of necessary reports on program activities, standards, accreditation requirements, internal and external meeting outcomes, educational concerns, and student successes.
  • Participates on 2-3 student Doctor of Nursing Practice project committees per cohort.
  • Attends 3 Nurse Anesthesia Program faculty meetings/semester; attends annual NAP faculty retreat
  • Attends one educational/training conference every two years.

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctor of Nursing Practice degree in Nursing degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience as CRNA.
  • Current Nursing RN and APRN license in the state of Ohio.
  •  Current certification or recertification by the NBCRNA
