Job Overview

Responsible for the management, administration, services, and activities in a residential building/area. This is a required live on-campus position. We will hire multilple Community Coordinators position from this public posting.

Essential Functions

• Under supervision of Area Coordinator regarding the administration of one or more residence halls and/or apartment communities; complete necessary paperwork, and work with, Neighborhood Operation Coordinator, Facilities & Maintenance staff, Housekeeping staff, Housing and Food Services, and University of Cincinnati Police Department to ensure safety and security within residential communities.

• Provide supervision and evaluation to student Resident Advisors, in the assigned residential communities; assist in the recruitment, selection, and training, of all Resident Education and Development staff members.

• Ensure that all residents feel included and welcome by overseeing the residential curriculum in the area in collaboration with other Resident Education and Development staff and/or university departments; facilitate an awareness and sensitivity in celebration of cultural diversity.

• Advise hall government.

• Monitor and approve financial transactions to ensure funds are used properly.

• Document behavioral concerns. Adjudicate instances of university violations in conjunction with the Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards; provide crisis intervention as situations arise. Utilize on-campus resources to make appropriate referrals to students who need and/or require assistance.

• Establish regular office hours within residential communities; maintain a high level of contact with residents and staff.

• Serve on departmental and division committees; attend regularly scheduled departmental staff meetings, individual consultations with supervisor/supervisees and facilitates area meetings.

• Serve on campus-wide duty and/or emergency rotation.

• May assist with Summer Conference Program operation. Participate and execute campus wide signature events.

• Perform related duties based on departmental need.

• Ensure that students and staff within their area(s) are aware of departmental and university policies and procedures within all residential communities.

Required Education

Bachelor’s Degree

Required Experience

Residential experience, experience with residential curriculum, living learning communities, and knowledge of other areas of higher education and student affairs.

Additional Qualifications Considered

• Valid Driver's License
