Job Overview

The Communications & Events Coordinator helps plan and manage various events and supports different communication initiatives and projects for the Commencement office.

Essential Functions

• Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of campus ceremonies and events.

• Manage and schedule event requests through scheduling software.

• Create social media content and schedule posts.

• Assist with developing digital content for the college/unit website.

• Collaborate with faculty, staff, external agencies, and other university departments.

• Communicate with parents, families, students, faculty, staff, and leadership.

• Assist with the administration of assigned budgets.

• Perform related duties based on departmental needs.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of experience in communications, event planning, and/or social media management.

Additional Qualifications Considered

One (1) year or more of experience with commencement planning and execution.

• Experience with event scheduling and management.

• Experience planning for and managing events.

• Experience with social media.

• Strong writing skills.

• Detailed oriented.

• Ability to work independently.
