Job Overview

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is seeking a partner who is interested in Women's Health and excels in or has experience in financial and data analysis, healthcare operations and strategy and development.  The position of Business Administrator will partner with the Executive Director and be responsible for day-to-day administration of specialized divisions such as Fertility, High Risk Pregnancy, Mid-life Women's Health and Gynecological Cancer. The Business Administrator may have direct supervisory responsibilities of a unit or multiple units, in addition to management responsibilities for a wide range of projects/tasks associated with primary business operations, academic, or student services. Responsibilities include reporting to management, provide recommendation and advice to management  and conduct or carry out work procedures and activities in accordance with local, state, federal, and university regulations.

 

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is one of a few in the United States that supports the full Women's Health service line, with expertise in virtually all aspects of women's health while participating in education, research and patient care. Our department has a number of unique support teams to care for and teach about specific and often rare medical problems, while providing compassionate and accessible care for women from all economic and social groups in the region through multiple offices and clinics.

Essential Functions

  • Manage the financial, administrative, and operational activities of a large and diversified unit with a considerable income generation component;
  • Direct personnel functions for an operating unit and oversee annual salary increase processes;
  • Coordinate budget preparation and monitor grants and contracts;
  • Determine purchasing priorities and make recommendations for major capital expenditures;
  • Serves as a seasoned and proficient professional;
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- Associate's degree and five(5) year's experience; -OR-seven (7) years’ experience; degree must be in Business Administration or related field.
  • Financial and administrative experience is required and must include three (3) years supervision.
  • Incumbent must possess the business/financial experience to be fully proficient in performing most or all work assignments.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Master Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field.
  • Financial experience in healthcare and/or higher education.
