Job Overview

Under general supervision from the Director of Student Recruitment & Marketing, the Associate Director of Marketing will assist in the strategic direction and planning of the marketing unit, the development and implementing of publications, marketing campaigns, promotional campaigns, communications, market research and public relations services for CECH. They will also assist in the direction of the communication activities for CECH in which decisions and quality of execution have significant impact on internal and external relations.

 

This position has the potential for a hybrid work schedule.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with planning and implementing publications, marketing campaigns and public relations services; develop and maintain communication efforts of a college or unit according to university branding guidelines (i.e., websites, social media sites, blogging, email, print advertising, etc.).
  • Develop long-range plans and strategies to achieve unit, department, university goals for areas of responsibility, monitors and achieves established goals. 
  • Recommend, implement and interpret university rules, policies, procedures, and controls; manage processes to advance service levels; collect and analyze data needed to track activities by promotional effort and develop and implement responsive service programs.
  • Attend meetings on behalf of the director; consult with director on major policy changes affecting other departments; authority to grant exceptions; may function for the Director in his/her absence, as required. 
  • Develop, implement and monitor assigned budgets and revenue/sponsorship oversight; authority for function budget, revenue and expense planning and approving expenditure; delegated signature authority for programs or functions within department or center.
  • Responsible for establishing collaborating efforts with administrative and academic units; serve as administrative liaison for internal and external business partners and community visitors. 
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.). 

Essential Functions Continued

  • Developing and implementing brand strategies.
  • Coordinating marketing materials and social, print, web-based and electronic media placement.
  • Maintain and continually improve the SEO of the College website, using strategies and analytics, to increase traffic and quality recruitment leads.
  • Work closely with the Director of Student Recruitment & Marketing to create a system and process for gathering and analyzing data in order to generate qualified leads, and determine ROI on all efforts.
  • Oversee the Social Media calendar and manage influencers to produce relevant social media content.
  • Provide direct supervision to Marketing staff and delegate appropriate tasks.
  • Creation of digital marketing campaign through the use of paid social media advertising for various programs within the college.
  • Serve as liaison for various vendors and contract operations.

 

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Graphic Design, or other related degree.
  • Nine (9) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

  • 5 years marketing experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience leading full-time and/or student employees.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Experience writing content for various strategic communications, media, external outreach and partnership needs, audiences, and publication formats.
  • Experience with market research.
  • Ability to manage, motivate, and teach staff and vendors to deliver high quality executions of campaign elements on multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Very strong Excel skills with experience using its analytical and data tools.
  • Experience working with a CRM.
  • Experience with web content management systems.
  • Experience with digital campaigns and developing the analytics and tools to improve them in an interactive fashion.
  • Ability to lead, direct, and manage, but willingness and skillset capable of performing hands-on tasks as needed.
