The administrative team of the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati is seeking extraordinary candidates for Associate Director- Academic of the graduate program in Pharmaceutical Sciences. This position will be under the general supervision of the Associate Dean for Research and Innovation/the Graduate Program Director.  In addition, this individual will work closely with directors of several online programs in the College.  



Primary duties will include:

-Manage the admission process for research-based and online programs, and respond to all admission inquiries related to these programs.

-Work closely with all members (faculty and staff) in the graduate programs regarding admission, retention, career planning, academic performance, and assessment.

-Facilitate recruitment events, orientation, commencements and manage budgets, itinerary and student volunteer efforts.

-Interface with International Office to address issues regarding international admissions, policy and financial support.

-Administer graduate student affairs with primary responsibilities for daily operations and administrative management and support.

-Advise students on Plan of Study development for programmatic compliance, and serve as knowledgeable resource to students on academic and nonacademic issues such as university services and programs.

-Monitor academic progress including annual meeting with mentor and mentee (research-based programs).  Review graduation prerequisites and certify students for graduation.

-Manage e-curriculum and catalyst activities such as course ordering, classroom booking, syllabus approval and degree audits.

-Communicate with the Graduate School to advocate and address responsive issues such as waiver requests, academic performance and leaves of absence.

-Compile statistical data and disseminate enrollment reports to reporting agencies and institutional studies.  Participate in and update summaries for Graduate Program Committee.

-Assist in coordinating logistics for dissertations, thesis, and capstone projects.

-Ensure compliance with academic performance and administrative policies within graduate programs and provide reports of noncompliance.  Make sure that all programs and services comply with university, state, and federal regulations.

-Prepare documents for and enter stipend and tuition awards into the university financial system (Research-based programs).

-Participate in maintaining and updating the website of college graduate programs.

-Provide assistance based on the needs of the Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, and Directors of the College of Pharmacy.

-Assist in proposal development in creating new graduate programs and developing programmatic collaborations with external education institutions.

-Assist with administrative leadership orient, train, and mentor and coordinate training programs.

-Network with industry leaders and Alumni for student professional development, employment and interviewing opportunities.




Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree with 2 years of experience in managing academic programs. Must be proficient with computer, word processing, and spreadsheets, and must have excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to individuals who have experience in academic program software: Slate, Canvas, Grad-Tracker, Certify-online, and E-Curriculum as well as financial systems (reimbursement and award entry). Academic Program Marketing knowledge and experience are desired.
