Job Overview

The Division of Surgical Oncology at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is recruiting a full-time, tenure-track faculty position to lead cancer-focused laboratory research to discover and target cancer cell state changes, tumor/immune microenvironment interactions, metabolic dependencies, therapy resistance mechanisms, and/or additional emerging concepts in oncology research.

 

The successful candidate will join the Division of Surgical Oncology in the Department of Surgery, a highly collaborative environment that is supported by substantial institutional investment in infrastructure and core facilities (http://med.uc.edu/research/core-facilities & https://www.cincinnatichildrens.org/research/cores). The faculty lab will be housed in the Vontz Center for Molecular Studies, an architecturally notable structure designed by Frank Gehry.

 

This position is located at the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine campus in the exciting and growing city of Cincinnati, Ohio. New developments and projects are abundant in Cincinnati, which offers sports, art, entertainment and more. Cincinnati has been identified as one of the most livable cities in the US, due to its affordable, big city lifestyle.

 

The final faculty rank and title will be commensurate with experience professional accomplishments of the selected applicant.

Essential Functions

  • Duties require an emphasis on establishing and maintaining an externally funded research laboratory.\
  • Additionally, the position will involve research, mentoring, and teaching activities for students, resident/fellows, and junior faculty.

Minimum Requirements

  • Doctorate Degree in biology, physiology, immunology, or related field.
  • Relevant post-doctoral experience.
  • Candidates at the rank of Associate or Full Professor will have an established track record of R01-level funding.
