The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for an Assistant Professor in our Radiologic Technology program beginning Aug. 15, 2019. UC Blue Ash College is the largest regional college in Ohio offering primarily associate degrees, with an enrollment of approximately 5,100 students. The UC Blue Ash College’s Radiologic Technology Program is a selective admissions program admitting approximately 24 students per class each year.

Tenure-track faculty responsibilities include teaching courses within the associate degree Radiologic Technology program, baccalaureate degree Radiation Science Technology program, and other courses within the Allied Health Department.   Full-time faculty also provide laboratory and clinical instruction, evaluation, and supervision in accordance with program policies.  Faculty are expected to participate in accreditation, recruitment, advising, program resource development, and other department functions.  Per JRCERT guidelines, a full-time faculty member in this program prepares and maintains course outlines and objectives, instructs and evaluates students, and reports progress, participates in the assessment process, supports the program director to help assure effective program operation, cooperates with the program director in periodic review and revision of course materials, and maintains appropriate expertise and competence through continuing professional developmen

Minimum Qualifications:
This position requires all of the following prior to the effective date of the appointment: Associate or Baccalaureate degree in Radiologic Technology (Radiography); Master's degree in education or health related field; three or more years of combined successful classroom and clinical instruction experience with applied knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising; recent professional clinical experience in digital radiography environment; registered in Radiography with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists; and hold or qualify for an unrestricted radiographer license with the Ohio Department of Health.  Must hold ARRT certification in Radiography and hold or be eligible to hold an unrestricted Ohio Radiologic License.  Must be detail-oriented and have proficiency in English.

The following essential functional abilities must be met by all faculty with or without reasonable accomodation. The faculty member must:
1. be able to utilize electronic media in the classroom and laboratory settings.
2. be able to move and operate radiography and other health-related equipment.
3. be able to accurately evaluate digital radiographic images for quality pertaining to positioning, exposure, artifacts, and patient preparation.
4. be able to safely and competently push, pull, lift, and transfer patients to perform exams and provide care.
5. possess the visual acuity necessary to read, compute, and identify objects correctly.
6. be able to communicate effectively and immediately with others in both verbal and written.
7. be able to interpret environmental cues, both audio and visual stimuli, and respond immediately as necessary.
8. be CPR-certified at the level of Health Care Provider through the American Heart Association and be able to competently begin and administer CPR.
9. be able to engage in clinical activities for a sustained time in the laboratory and clinical environments. This includes frequent standing and walking for 6-8 hours.
