The School of Information Technology (SoIT) at the University of Cincinnati seeks to hire an Assistant Professor - Educator in the areas related to Information Technology including Software Development, Cybersecurity, Game Development, Database Management, and Networking/Systems to start in August 2019. The School of Information Technology currently confers both an undergraduate degree in Information Technology (BSIT) and a Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT), which cover the areas of Networking/Systems, Software Application Development, Cybersecurity, Game Development & Simulation, and Database Management. A Ph.D. program has been recommended to the Chancellor of Higher Education for approval and is expected to start in the Fall. Furthermore, the School confers a minor in Information Technology and several certificates. There are over 900 students in the School and 17 full-time faculty members. The BSIT degree is a five-year co-op degree and is one of the first 10 in the nation to receive ABET accreditation.

Job Description:
On a full-time basis, faculty members' principal academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating and reporting knowledge.

 

Position Requirements:
An earned Masters degree in Information Technology or related computing area and at least three years of working experience that includes technical hands-on experience in Cybersecurity or Networking.

 

All faculty positions require teaching, scholarship and service responsibilities. Teaching undergraduate courses such as, but not limited to, those listed at http://cech.uc.edu/it/future-students/course-descriptions.html is required. Finally, service responsibilities to the School, College, University and/or the community.

 

Candidates should have prior teaching experience, which could have been as a teaching assistant, adjunct or full-time faculty in courses similar to those listed at http://cech.uc.edu/it/future-students/course-descriptions.html.
