Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time, Assistant Professor-Educator position in Early Care and Education, in the Behavioral Sciences Department, beginning January 1, 2025.
This position is a non-tenure eligible Assistant Professor - Educator position with a start date of January 1, 2025. The initial term is 3 years and is renewable upon satisfactory performance. The retention and promotion criteria for Educator faculty emphasize teaching excellence, leadership in instructional innovation, and service. Research productivity is not expected or evaluated but is permitted.
Essential Functions
• Teach an average of 12 contact hours per semester of lecture and/or practicum classes in the Fall and Spring semesters. The primary content area for this position is Early Care and Education for majors and non-majors. Example courses taught could be Human Development, Infant Toddler Care and Education, and Health, Safety, and Nutrition.
• Serve as the Program Director of Early Care and Education. Duties for this role include, but are not limited to, serving as the program contact person for current students and incoming students, coordinating field and practicum experiences, and promoting the program and assisting with recruitment, including representation of the program at open houses.
• Participate in governance and committee work of the department such as, but not limited to, attendance at department and/or committee meetings, including, but not limited to, departmental search committees and bylaw committees.
Minimum Requirements
The following are required prior to effective date of appointment:
• Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education or closely related field.
• One academic year of college-level teaching experience in early childhood education or a related field.
