Job Overview

The University of Cincinnati Blue Ash College invites applications for a full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice position for the Behavioral Science Department, intended to begin on August 15, 2025. This position will also involve serving as the Program Director of the Criminal Justice program.

Essential Functions

  • Teaching four courses per semester, such as, but not limited to, Introduction to Criminal Justice and Policing in America. This is a face-to-face program, but there may be opportunities to teach some online courses.
  • Serving as the Program Director of Criminal Justice. Duties for this role include, but are not limited to, serving as the program contact person for current students and incoming students, coordinating the Partners in Justice Student organization, organizing discipline-related events, and promoting the program and assisting with recruitment, including representation of the program at open houses.
  • Participating in department and college service, such as, but not limited to, collecting data from courses for program assessment, attending department meetings, and representing the department at various university functions.
  • Engaging in research in the applicant’s area of expertise or in the scholarship of teaching and learning,  as well as ongoing professional development activities. 

Minimum Requirements

Prior to the effective date of the appointment, all of the following are required:


• Either a PhD in Criminal Justice, Sociology or a related field OR a JD
• One academic year of collegiate teaching experience in Criminal Justice or a related field.
