Job Overview

The Department of Marketing at the Lindner College of Business, University of Cincinnati invites applications from qualified individuals for multiple tenure track Assistant Professor positions in Marketing. 

 

The Department of Marketing has the largest undergraduate major on campus, an online/on-campus Master of Science in Marketing program, as well as a strong Ph.D. program. The Department is known for strong behavioral research, and the tenure-track faculty in the department serve as editors and editorial board members at top journals in the field and have fellow status in ACR, SCP, and APA. Junior faculty have the opportunity to grow in an attractive research environment given the supportive structure for faculty development.  Our department is both collegial and productive, and has a strong commitment to quality research and teaching, demonstrating innovation and commitment vital to student success. We nurture faculty as impactful thought leaders and institution builders, empowering professional development within our collegial, diverse, and vibrant community. 

 

This search will remain open until the position is filled. Intended start date is August 2026.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct behavioral research and publish in top academic journals in Marketing. 
  • Develop and teach Marketing courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, such as but not limited to Consumer Behavior, Marketing Management, International Marketing, and Marketing Ethics. This includes course preparation and curriculum development, delivering course content and leading hands-on exercises, holding office hours, as well as grading and preparing assessment materials. Classes may include face-to-face and online versions.  
  • Provide institution-building service to the Department and College (e.g., serve on committees such as the PhD Committee or the Research Excellence Committee, advise students). 

Minimum Requirements

Prior to effective date of appointment, all of the following:

  • Completed PhD (i.e., must have completed all requirements for graduation) in Marketing, Business, or a related field. Candidates who hold a Marketing or Business PhD would be expected to have graduated from an AACSB-International accredited institution. 
  • Focused and productive behavioral research program, demonstrated by at least one publication in Marketing or a related behavioral area and at least one other work in progress (e.g., a paper under review at a journal, a working paper in progress but not yet submitted, or paper acceptance at a conference in Marketing or related behavioral area).  
  • Experience teaching at least one undergraduate or graduate course in Marketing or a related area (which could have been as a teaching assistant).
