Job Overview

The College of Nursing at the University of Cincinnati is seeking a tenure track faculty member at the Assistant Professor level to contribute to the research mission of the college. Candidates should be prepared to teach at the graduate and/or undergraduate levels (depending upon College needs and the candidate’s credentials). This is a 9-month faculty appointment that teaches across two primary semesters.

 

Faculty members who are tenured or tenure-track faculty are primarily responsible for research, which includes a consistent pattern of obtaining extramural funding for research and publications in peer-reviewed publications. Tenured or tenure-track faculty members may also contribute to the pedagogical and service missions of the university, expectations for which may be described in their letters of appointment and in their unit reappointment and promotion criteria. Essential Functions

Job duties will include teaching, research, and service activities. The faculty member will teach courses at the graduate and/or undergraduate level. A reduced teaching load will be given during the first 2 years of appointment. Research expectations will include developing a focused program of research related to urban impact (e.g., public health, cancer science). Responsibilities will include submitting grants and disseminating research findings at conferences and in peer-reviewed journals. Service expectations include service to the College, University, and a professional nursing or health-related organization.

Minimum Requirements

Must have obtained a Doctorate or terminal degree from a regionally accredited college or university of recognized standing in a field appropriate to the requirements of the position.

Required Education

Minimum Requirements Prior to effective date of appointment, must have obtained:

• A Doctor of Philosophy degree in nursing or health-related discipline

Required Experience

• 1 year of postdoctoral research experience with a focus in nursing or health-related discipline.
