Job Overview

Assist with planning, developing and implementing publications, marketing campaigns and public relations services for a college or unit.

Essential Functions

  • Develop and maintain communication efforts of a college or unit according to university guidelines (i.e., websites, social medical sites, blogging, email, print advertising, etc.).
  • Manage College of Law website and intranet sites and act as primary contact for all related inquiries.
  • Working with UC Media Relations, coordinate public relations activities (i.e., media relations, special events, community/university relations, etc.). 
  • Manage day-to-day posting and monitoring of College of Law social media channels in accordance with marketing and communications strategy.
  • Draft, edit and publish news releases and stories on a regular basis.
  • Coordinate digital signage program including content management, run-time, locations and related digital signage uses (i.e., emergency announcements, directory listings, etc.).
  • Plan and maintain scheduling for event communications for named lecture series including print and digital communications.
  • Assist with reputational management and rankings efforts by drafting and creating print, email, and other promotions in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Assist with developing, editing, and publishing the College of Law’s annual alumni magazine.
  • Assist with budget and revenue/sponsorship oversight for the functional areas assigned.
  • Collect and analyze data needed to track activities by promotional effort, including working closely with Admissions & Enrollment marketing to set objectives and monitor progress. Make recommendations to meet planning objectives.
  • Coordinate with campus wide marketing and promotions requirements and plans.
  • Coordinate freelance design, photography, and videography and manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree should be in a relevant field. 
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience.

Familiarity with:

  • Google Analytics/Google Search Console
  • Content Management Systems (e.g. Adobe Experience Manager)
  • Email Management Systems (e.g. Constant Contact, Slate)
  • Adobe Creative Cloud applications (e.g. Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Premiere, etc.)
  • Sharepoint Modern
  • AP Style

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
