About the Department
The University of Cincinnati Department of Athletics competes at the highest level of intercollegiate athletics with the vision to reach Next Level Success for all 18 varsity teams and more than 450 student-athletes. The Bearcats have a proud athletics history, winning eight national championships and 118 conference titles. The Cincinnati men's basketball team is among the 15 winningest programs all-time, while the football team became the first non-Power Five program to compete in the College Football Playoff in 2021. Olympic gold medalist volleyball player Jordan Thompson, NBA Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson and Major League Baseball legend Sandy Koufax are among the several luminaries who have competed as Bearcats.

Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati (UC), Department of Athletics seeks applications for an Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Experience (Program Coordinator). This is a full-time position, with a comprehensive benefits package.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver a worldclass experience for our fans and manage a range of marketing duties with a focus on generating revenue and increasing attendance at athletic events while following University of Cincinnati and departmental policies, NCAA Division I, and Conference bylaws and regulations.
The position requires some evening and weekend hours.
Essential Functions
- Manage and implement all marketing and promotional plans for assigned sports (Sport assignments to be determined). Includes a strong focus on ideation and execution of digital marketing campaigns.
- Assist in the marketing, promotion of football, including gameday operations and game presentation.
- Support fan experience elements for football, men’s basketball, and other sports as needed, including but not limited to tailgating, open houses, spring games, pep rallies, etc.
- Create strategies, build relationships, and implement fan experiences to positively differentiate live home events from watching on television, in turn enhancing fan engagement and increasing attendance at assigned sports, specifically through student, youth, family and community outreach efforts.
- Develop and implement creative, innovative, and impactful ideas for fueling the intensity of interest in Bearcats athletics.
- Manage the student capstone and internship programs (Bearcats Marketing Association).
- Serve as the liaison to campus and student organizations and develop creative and innovative strategies for deepening student engagement with athletics, utilizing resources such as email platform and Ruckus social media accounts.
- Participate in revenue generating initiatives, including but not limited to student season ticket sales.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the marketing department.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.
Required Experience
One (1) year of program coordination experience.
