This position is a professional advanced practice nurse who has acquired advanced knowledge & clinical skills in the management of addictions patients. The Advanced Practice Nurse provides comprehensive care to patients including consultation, collaboration, medication management & referral.  

 

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Implements advanced practice through the provision of direct care.

  • Obtains a complete assessment & history.
  • Interprets laboratory tests.
  • Develops & implements plan for the management of acute & episodic problems including, disease management, counseling, health promotion & maintenance, & treatment interventions consistent with practice standards.
  • Provides periodic assessments.
  • Evaluates patient outcomes to identify progress or to adapt treatment plan as needed.
  • Arranges referrals to other health care team members, or to community resources, as needed
  • Prescribes medication within scope of practice.
  • Performs review of systems with emphasis on acute and episodic health issues.
  • Maintains practices to ensure compliance with all applicable OTP and OBOT regulations

2.Collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary team

  • Serves as a resource for all other members of the interdisciplinary team related to provision of care.
  • Works closely with physician, psychiatrist, RN’s and support staff to effectively address problems.
  • Utilizes advanced knowledge & skills to support staff practice by role modeling and providing patient advocacy.
  • Facilitates evidence based interdisciplinary care and assists in the development of standards of practice

3. Participates in the continuous improvement of the organization through the quality improvement process

  • Completes monitors for assigned indicators
  • Implements actions that result in continuous improvement of quality & compliance
  • Participates in the organization wide quality measures

4. Supports business development

 

Position Qualifications:

  1. Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio with an active license with no restrictions. Certificate of authority from the State of Ohio Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
  2. Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing, in a psychiatric advanced practice nurse program.
  3. Must have Advanced Practice Nurse Psychiatric certification. Family Practice certification a plus.
  4. X-DEA Waiver/certificate to prescribe buprenorphine
  5. CPR Certification
  6. At least 2 years of experience in psychiatry required, with at least a year’s experience Addictions.
  7. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-specific and developmentally appropriate care for the spectrum of populations admitted to LCOH.
  8. Ability to enthusiastically follow and model the Lindner Center of HOPE mission, vision and values.
