The University of Cincinnati’s College of Law is currently seeking an Admissions Officer – who will, under general supervision, implement and explain University admissions policies and evaluate admissions applications. Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Maintain all computer records for all prospects and applicants for the College of Law Admissions Office.
  • Learn LSAC software system (ACES) as well as university based Catalyst student information system.
  • Prepare ad hoc and periodic reports as required; generate reports and assist in analyzing and interpreting data. 
  • Primary point of contact in the College of Law Admissions Office.  This includes prospect emails and telephone contact. 
  • Explain admissions policies and procedures and answer questions on academic programs and campus life.
  • Prepare applications for admission for the Admissions Committee.  Point person for printing and mailing decision letters/emails and other targeted in-house mailings.
  • Coordinates specialized recruitment areas such student tour guides (Student Ambassadors), tele-counseling, campus visits, diversity recruiting, high-achievers outreach, visitor center activities, etc.;
  • Attend state and national professional meetings; also attend off-campus recruitment programs as directed. 
  • May provide supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., training, hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform duties based on departmental need.
  • Manage fall travel calendar, registering for events, and sending materials.
  • Help with the marketing efforts and recruiting tactics and strategies as part of the Admissions team.


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area with one (1) year experience; -OR- Associate’s degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- five (5) years’ experience. 
  • Experience must be in university admissions and/or counseling high school or college students or related field.
  • Experience may also require at least one (1) year supervision.
  • May require a valid driver’s license and/or passport.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Law School other professional school admissions experience is preferred.
