DEPARTMENT OF REHABILITATION, EXERCISE & NUTRITION SCIENCES

 

A term adjunct faculty position is currently available for the Spring 2019 semester in the Department of Rehabilitation, Exercise and Nutrition Sciences.  The specific duty of this position is to provide course instruction in ATH 3075C – General Medical Aspects in Athletic Training.  Responsibilities of the position include didactic and laboratory instruction in the procedures of taking a medical history, performing general medical screening and specific medical conditions assessments, the recognition, management and referral of patients with medical conditions, and the consequences that illnesses and their management have on athletic/sport participation.  This course is 4 undergraduate credit hours and has online, face-to-face, and laboratory content.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  Candidates must hold a degree and valid license to practice as a medical health care provider (i.e., MD, DO, DC, PA-C, CNP) and be familiar with the medical conditions common to sports and athletics.  The candidate must provide evidence of excellent communication and organization skills.  Candidates who have teaching experience at the college level, evidence of scholarly work, and experience directly related to sports and athletics are highly desirable.
