Job Overview

On a part-time limited basis, the Adjunct Faculty member’s primary academic functions include teaching, discovering, creating, and reporting knowledge to a diverse set of students.

 

Vet Tech Adjunct Faculty responsibilities include: teaching a variety of courses including lecture, lab, and clinical courses based on candidates’ expertise. Adjunct faculty members will be expected to use our course management system, Canvas, hold regular office hours, and attend at least one professional development workshop per year. Classes may be offered day or evening. Teaching is assigned on an as-needed, semester-by-semester basis.  Office hours are required in order to meet with students as needed.  Many lectures are offered using online lecture delivery. Adjuncts should be comfortable using technology and be willing to attend professional development opportunities to learn how to properly apply technology in the virtual classroom as a requirement for teaching online.

Essential Functions

  • Conduct and teach assigned undergraduate courses.
  • May serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate student coursework.
  • Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
  • Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Education

A bachelors’ degree in Veterinary Technology or a related field of study; -or- a doctorate of Veterinary Medicine.  

Required Trainings/Certifications

Candidates must have a license to practice Veterinary Medicine in the State of Ohio.  

Required Experience

At least one year of teaching experience in a college setting.
