Job Overview
The University of Cincinnati Clermont College is accepting applications for Adjunct Instructors to teach undergraduate online courses in Finance and Insurance. This remote role provides a flexible opportunity to engage and educate students through high-quality virtual instruction.
We are seeking professionals with expertise in finance, insurance, or a related field to deliver engaging, student-centered instruction in an online format. Adjunct instructors may be assigned to teach a variety of courses such as Personal Finance, Corporate Finance, Risk Management, Insurance Planning, Insurance Company Operations, Fundamentals of Insurance, Stock Market & Investments, and other related topics. Ideal candidates will bring a combination of academic knowledge and practical experience, along with a strong commitment to accessible, student-focused, and high-quality online education.
Essential Functions
- Teach online courses using UC’s learning management system (Canvas) in asynchronous and/or synchronous formats
- Prepare course content and assessments aligned with established learning outcomes
- Provide timely feedback, foster interaction, and maintain active communication with students
- Uphold academic standards and best practices in online education
- Collaborate with program coordinators and follow university guidelines for grading, communication, and accessibility
- Submit course assessment and outcomes data at the end of each semester as required by the department
Minimum Requirements
- Master’s degree in Finance, Insurance, Business, Economics, or a closely related field
- Relevant professional experience in finance, insurance, or investment-related roles
- Proficiency with online teaching technologies and strong written communication skills
Additional Qualifications Considered
- College-level teaching experience, particularly in an online setting
- Familiarity with Canvas or comparable LMS platforms
- Industry credentials (e.g., CFP®, CFA®, CPCU®, CLU®)
- Demonstrated commitment to inclusive and student-centered teaching
