The College of Engineering & Applied Science
Housing the most extensive mandatory cooperative education program and one of the best in the country (US News and World Report), CEAS has established strategic industry partnerships. One of the 14 colleges at UC, CEAS has 8 departments offering 16 ABET-accredited degree programs. The College offers doctoral degrees in 11 programs, research-focused Master of Science degrees in 12 programs, and workforce-focused Master of Engineering degrees in 17 programs.

Job Overview
The Department of Civil and Architectural Engineering and Construction Management (CAECM) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Cincinnati (UC) invites applications for the position of Department Head. The new Department Head will be expected to provide vision and leadership that will advance the department’s growth, expand the department’s prominence in research and graduate education, and sustain a longstanding commitment to excellence in undergraduate education. The selected candidate must also possess an established ability to foster relationships with industry and an interest in facilitating international partnerships.
The CAECM Department is comprised of a unique combination of degree programs encompassing the disciplines necessary to design, construct, and manage the built environment and infrastructure. The CAECM Department consists of 24 full-time faculty and 5 full-time staff, and houses three accredited undergraduate programs with mandatory co-op: Architectural Engineering (202 students), Civil Engineering (374 students), and Construction Management (335 students). The CAECM Department also houses the Civil Engineering M.Eng., M.S., and Ph.D. graduate programs and the Architectural Engineering M.Eng. program with 83 graduate students. The Department has strong educational and research programs in building systems, construction, geotechnical, pavement, structural, and transportation. Minimum Qualifications
The applicant must have earned a doctorate degree in civil engineering, architectural engineering, construction management, or a closely-related discipline and have demonstrated academic leadership and management skills. Applicants must have a proven record of scholarly publications, funded research, effective teaching, and professional and university service sufficient to qualify for appointment to a tenured position at the Professor rank.
