The Business Core Systems department (BCS) is looking for a full-time Software Applications Developer.  Reporting to the Sr. IT Manager, the Software Applications Developer is responsible for the design and implementation of applications’ build, release, deployment, and configuration activities. Other responsibilities include working with internal business partners to gather requirements, prototyping, architecting, implementing/updating solutions, building and executing test plans, performing quality reviews, and triaging/fixing operational and production issues.



  • Develops/builds efficient IT solutions to meet business requirements.
  • Installs and configures solutions.
  • Integrates solutions with other applications and platforms outside the framework.
  • Experience converting functional requirements into technical requirements
  • Translates business and technical requirements into test cases, test scenarios and scripts.
  • Develops and/or implements reusable components.
  • Codes and documents custom test automation frameworks.
  • Performs script maintenance and updates due to changes in requirements or implementation.
  • Assists with setup and maintenance of test environments for both manual and automated testing.
  • Adheres to all development standards and procedures.
  • Assists with applying and testing software upgrades and/or integrations.
  • Deploys new modules, upgrades and fixes to the production environment.
  • Documents and completes knowledge transfer to production support.
  • Reviews modules for quality assurance.
  • Provides technical coaching and mentoring to less-experienced team members.
  • Works as a project team member, or independently on small projects.
  • Works on moderate to complex tasks in support of one or more projects that require multiple areas of expertise.
  • Participates in project planning processes.
  • Creates and shares development/testing estimates and operational requirements to enable accurate planning with realistic timelines.
  • May serve as a liaison between client partners, BCS, and vendors in coordination with project managers to provide technical solutions that address end-user needs.
  • Works closely with leadership to assure all systems are in line with BCS’s long-term strategy.
  • Works effectively on multiple on-going projects and completes assigned projects with minimal oversight.



  • Bachelor’s degree with 3 years relevant technical or business work experience – OR – Associate’s degree with 9 years–OR – H/S diploma and 15 years.
  • Degres must be in Programming/Systems, Computer Science or other related field (Degree could be in progress).
  • Experience must be in relevant technical or business related work.
  • Experience working in applications, systems or IT operations.
  • Knowledge of an agile team environment and process.
  • Experience in writing and debugging complex SQL
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  • Requires working knowledge of two or more programming languages.
  • Comfort with frequent, incremental code, testing and deployment.



  • Proficiency with PeopleSoft 9.2 applications and PeopleTools 8.56+, preferably Campus Solutions.
  • Experience using Application Designer, Application Engine, Application Packages, PS Query, PeopleCode, SQR, Oracle SQL, Integration Broker, Component Interface, BI Publisher, Equation Engine, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PeopleSoft Fluid UI, COBOL and Phire.
  • Familiarity with PeopleSoft custom Fluid development.
  • Exposure to PeopleSoft Fluid tiles, homepages, navigation collections and dashboards.
  • Experience with code reviews, thorough unit testing, and developing suggested test plans
  • Solid interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with people of all levels of information technology expertise and comfort in varied organizational relationships.
  • Ability to participate in rotational on-call support
