The College of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Informatics is looking for a Research Associate. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

 

Job Duties:  Provide statistical analysis, study design and data management support for clinical, practice-oriented and population-based research and quality improvement projects. Responsibilities include assisting faculty, staff, fellows, residents and medical students to:

 

  • develop study design and endpoint assessment
  • formulate sampling techniques and calculate sample sizes
  • perform statistical analyses of primary and secondary data
  • prepare statistical section of study protocol/manuscript
  • assist in reporting statistical results in manuscripts
  • assist interpret statistics/study design for presentation in conferences/journal clubs
  • design and develop data collection forms and questionnaires
  • design, develop and validate web-based and offline data collection tools
  • development and maintenance of relational databases
  • extraction and documentation of analytic datasets from databases
  • integration of data from multiple source systems
  • automate data transfers/interfaces with data vendors for standard data extracts
  • procurement and archiving of publicly available research datasets
  • report on clinical processes quality improvement metrics
  • report on clinical outcomes quality improvement metrics
  • report on physicians’ clinical care performance metrics
  • report on residency program residents’ evaluations
  • report on medical students’ patient encounter experiences

 

Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Biostatistics, Quantitative Data Science, or a related field.
