The College of Medicine, Department of Biomedical Informatics, is looking for a Program Manager. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.


Essential FunctionUnder general supervision of the graduate program direct, manage, design, develop, modify and oversee biomedical informatics education programs.


Characteristic Duties:

  • Manage, design, develop, modify and oversee educational programs in biomedical informatics for biomedical researchers, physicians, post-graduate fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Work closely and collegially with Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) informatics staff and key Hospital Departments to assure optimal cooperation between DBMi and CCHMC academic and operational entities in addressing  educational needs.
  • Recruitment and Admissions activities for the BMI graduate program.
  • Maintain website and other marketing initiatives to advertise the program regionally and nationally.  Pland and execute student recruiting initiatives.
  • Manage tracking of student progress.
  • Organize and support event series.
  • Assist in the advising of trainees.
  • Manage trainee activities and events including retreats, journal clubs, and guest speakers.
  • Develop and recommend new operating procedures.
  • Daily operations including managing and organizing meetings.
  • Maintain department operating budget records.  Work with finance team regarding budget and grant management.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.


Minimum QualificationsBachelor degree with three (3) years of experience. Experience must be in program development or business administration.


Preferred QualificationsMaster degree in related field; Experience within a complex academic health care organization.  The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the use of technology including Microsoft Office applications and social media. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. Basic web page editing skills and ability to use simple media editing applications would be helpful.  Scientific background and interest in biomedical and/or data science would also be helpful.
