The College of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism, is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Shailendra Patel. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.


Job Summary/DutiesWe are currently seeking post-doctoral applicants with interest in studying how cholesterol traffics in the mammalian body.  We use clues garnered from human genetic studies to create animal models to mimic these human conditions. Thus the work encompasses some human genetic studies, as well as use of animal models, primarily mice, with some work involving rats.


Duties will consist of, but are not limited to, designing, performing, and analyzing studies that support the focus of the Patel laboratory, writing up and presenting work for publication and dissemination, as well as assisting with grant applications.


The successful candidate is expected to lead a project of their own within 3 months of starting this job and will be expected to devote a significant amount of time to this. 


Minimum Qualifications: PhD, MD, or MD/PhD, or foreign equivalent degree.
