The College of Medicine, Department of Operations and Finance is recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE) HR Consultant. This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff, and all our activities. 


Job Summary This position will support the HR Generalist functions of the College of Medicine. Duties and responsibilities will include; but are not limited to the following:


  • Serve as a liaison for faculty and staff to answer questions regarding benefits, policies, pay, etc.
  • Develop relationships with staff and managers in assigned departments to better understand business processes, business needs and implications for HR processes.
  • Communicate with all employees, applicants and management regarding the onboarding and pre-employment process. Prepare for and conduct Faculty orientation.
  • Process personnel transactions (e.g. salary increases, promotions, transfers, etc.).
  • Manage and track FMLA and other leaves of absence.
  • Collaborate with department leadership to manage employee relations, performance management and employee performance issues.
  • Consult with department leadership regarding recruiting, promotion and retention strategies.
  • Manage and coordinate the visa application process for foreign nationals. Act as a liaison between the department and the International Office with regards to all foreign work authorization activities.
  • Consult with University HR Centers of Excellence on complex HR matters.
  • Generate and analyze employee data from University and corporate HRIS reporting systems.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.


Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree with three (3) years of experience required. Degree and experience MUST be in Human Resources or related field.
