The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy is currently inviting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, 12-month, clinical faculty position in the Division of Pharmacy Practice and Administrative Sciences in the area of psychiatric care at the Assistant or Associate Professor level.  The College is located on the Health Sciences Campus of the University in close proximity to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, the Cincinnati Veteran’s Administration Hospital, and the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, as well as the Colleges of Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health professions which fosters partnerships in teaching and research with faculty from these units.  The Lindner Center of HOPE is a comprehensive mental health center providing excellent, patient-centered, scientifically-advanced care for individuals suffering with mental illness. It is a state-of-the-science, mental health center and charter member of the National Network of Depression Centers.  It provides psychiatric hospitalization for individuals age 12 and older, outpatient services for all ages, research, and voluntary, live-in services.  The center’s nationally acclaimed clinicians provide seamless outpatient services, including psychiatric evaluation, psychotherapy, psychopharmacology, education, rehabilitation, and expert consultations.  The Center is enhanced by its partnership with UC Health as its clinicians are ranked among the best providers locally, nationally and internationally. Together Lindner Center of HOPE and UC Health offer a true system of mental health care in the Greater Cincinnati area and across the country.

 

The position will support the patient care mission at the Lindner Center of HOPE and the educational, service, and scholarly missions of the College.  Primary responsibilities include didactic and experiential teaching in the Doctor of Pharmacy program.  The teaching focus of the academic responsibilities will be therapeutics of the central nervous system.  The successful candidate will maintain a clinical practice, precept pharmacy students, develop a residency training program focused on care of patients with mental illness, as well as participate in scholarly and service activities appropriate for the appointment rank.  

 

Excellent communication, interpersonal, interprofessional collaboration, and patient care skills are essential.

 

Minimum Qualifications: A pharmacy degree and eligibility for licensure in Ohio. The ideal candidate will have one or more of the following:   1) completed an ASHP-accredited PGY-2 residency in psychiatric pharmacy or related field, 2) experience in providing either inpatient or ambulatory care services to patients with mental illness and 3) board certification (BCPP preferred).
