The College of Medicine is recruiting for a full-time (100% FTE) Assistant Director/Program Director for the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP). This position will support the University’s mission and commitment to excellence and diversity in our students, faculty, staff and all our activities.

 

Essential Function:

Under general supervision of the Program Director, develop, plan, and oversee the daily operational activities of the College of Medicine’s Medical Scientist Training Program.

 

Characteristic Duties:

  • Recruitment and Admissions activities for the MSTP.
  • Daily operations for MSTP including managing and organizing meetings.
  • Maintain department operating budget records.
  • Work with finance team regarding MSTP budget and T32 grant management.
  • Maintain MSTP website and other marketing initiatives to advertise the program nationally.
  • Manage tracking of student progress.
  • Assist in the advising of trainees.
  • Generate reports for internal and external contacts.
  • Maintain contact with alumni and manage alumni records.
  • Manage trainee activities and events including retreats, journal clubs, and guest speakers.
  • Develop and recommend new operating procedures.
  • Assist in the development of grant proposals.
  • Provide direct supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with three (3) years’ experience; -OR- Associate's degree with five (5) years’ experience; -OR- seven (7) years related experience. Degree must be in a related field. Experience must be in administration of programs. Experience must include at least one (1) year supervision.
