About the University of Cincinnati

Ohio Tech Prep is a grant-funded initiative that supports partnerships among career technical planning districts (secondary), area technical colleges and universities and employers. Tech Prep is jointly administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Higher Education. Cincinnati State is the fiscal agent for the Tech Prep Southwest Regional Center that includes Hamilton, Clermont, Butler, Warren, Brown and Adams Counties. The Office of Enrollment Management partnered with Ohio Tech Prep are looking to hire a Program Manager to support this program.

Job Overview

Enrollment Management is looking for a Program Manager reporting to the Director of EM Launch UC to provide services to area career centers, high schools, charter and community schools, adult technical centers, and colleges and universities to support the development of career pathways. This includes ensuring the alignment of high school and career center curriculum with college coursework to create a seamless transition to college-level learning. This is accomplished through the development of bilateral articulations, Career Technical Credit Transfers (CTAG), CCP Pathways, and other appropriate collaborations/initiatives.  Additionally, this position collaborates with local businesses and industry to provide real-world experiences (job shadowing, internships, etc.) for students in their area of interest and have three years of relevant experience including experience with joint vocational school districts/career centers. This is a 2-year grant-funded position that could be renewed or made permanent at the end of the appointment based on the continuance of the grant and the business needs of the hiring department. This position offers a hybrid schedule where you will have a specific amount of days in the office.

Essential Functions

  • Build and foster relationships between secondary and postsecondary education partners with business and industry.
  • Develop seamless career pathways and Programs of Study for students.
  • Participate in Tech Prep college transition activities by providing transition assistance to students and assist outreach assistance to college departments.
  • Provide at no cost valuable technical information to all stakeholders.
  • Assist school districts, adult Ohio technical centers and colleges in efforts to adhere to statewide credit transfer requirements and articulation agreements (i.e., articulation agreements, creation of pathways and CTE-26 program applications, Career Technical Credit Transfer (CTAG) etc.).
  • Works effectively with Deans, and Assistant Deans.
  • Collect and report data on pathways, articulation agreements, and CTAG to the Tech Prep Regional Center.
  • Supports services for incoming career tech students in regard to college credit options from Career Tech Planning Districts Collaborates with the College Planning and Institutional Research office to collect and report data for all aspects of the Tech Prep grant.

Essential Functions (cont'd)

  • Serve as a resource/support to the College for CTAG and Tech Prep articulation agreements. 
  • Carry out other duties as requested by ODE/ODHE via the Tech Prep Chief Administrator
  • Participate in regional and state meetings, conferences, trainings, professional development, and workshops.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to bridge education with business and industry such as work-based learning.
  • Provide technical assistance to Southwest BACs (Business Advisory Councils) as requested.
  • Collaborate with the CA (Chief Administrator) and other Tech Prep coordinators in the region.
  • Actively pursue opportunities to bridge education with business and industry such as work-based learning.
  • Assist in keeping all documents and the website up to date.
  • Performs duties to assist the region in achieving the grant deliverables.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.  This job description can be changed at any time. 

Required Education

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Established relationships with career tech leaders at Butler Technology and Career Development Center, Warren County Career Center, UC Grant Career Center, Southern Hills Career Center, Great Oaks Career Development Campuses, and Cincinnati Public Schools.
  • Experience working with University of Cincinnati 
  • Demonstrated expertise in new media and organizational communication. 
  • Proficient in MS Office-Windows 7 or above, computer technology, and office equipment
  • Valid Driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between campus locations, meetings and state-sponsored activities.
  • Master’s degree ideal.  
  • Established relationships with career tech leaders at Butler Technology and Career Development Center, Warren County Career Center, US Grant Career Center, Southern Hills Career Center, Great Oaks Career Development Campuses, and Cincinnati Public Schools
  • Understanding of Ohio Department of Education and Ohio Department of Higher Education systems and support staff.

  • Adaptability – must be willing to adapt to change quickly and easily.
  • Excellent presentation skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to student and faculty success.
  • Knowledge and skill in a variety of computer usage and software.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement.
